- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp red chili flakes
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- A splash of apple cider vinegar (for added tang)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Meatballs:
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, Parmesan cheese, coriander, minced onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, ground cumin, chili flakes, and lemon zest.
- Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Shape into golf ball-sized meatballs and set aside.
- Prepare the Tomato Sauce:
- In a skillet or saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes. Stir in the spices: salt, pepper, cumin, chili flakes, and oregano.

- Cook the Meatballs:
- In a separate skillet, heat a bit of olive oil over medium-high heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides.
- Once browned, add the meatballs to the simmering tomato sauce. Let them cook in the sauce for another 10-15 minutes or until fully cooked through.
- Serve:
- Plate the meatballs with generous tomato sauce. Garnish with additional chopped coriander and grated Parmesan cheese.
