Ingredients:
- 400g large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 300g asparagus, trimmed and cut into 5cm pieces
- 60g butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, juiced and zested
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 5g red pepper flakes (optional, for added spice)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Shichirin Grill: Light the charcoal in your shichirin grill and allow it to heat up to medium-high heat.
- Prepare the Ingredients: While the grill is heating up, prepare your shrimp and asparagus.
- Make Garlic Butter: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and sauté the garlic until fragrant. Add the lemon zest, juice, and red pepper flakes if using. Set aside.
- Grill the Asparagus: Brush the asparagus with some of the garlic butter, season with salt and pepper, and place on the grill. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until tender and slightly charred. Remove and set aside.
- Grill the Shrimp: Brush the shrimp with the garlic butter and place on the grill. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until pink and slightly charred.
- Combine with Asparagus: In a large bowl, toss the grilled shrimp and asparagus with the remaining garlic butter sauce until well-coated.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
